Class A CDL Driver, Hazmat
About The Position
This is a regional over-the-road route focused on delivering helium compressed gas cylinders to established, repeat customers. Drivers will run a dedicated territory, delivering clean, non-flammable product on a familiar route each week. The schedule involves departing Monday morning and being on the road Monday through Thursday/Friday, with 3 to 4 overnights per week. The territory is divided into 4 zones, with drivers covering one zone per week, staying in hotels instead of sleeper berths. The role requires building relationships with regular customers and assisting with their inventory needs.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers
- Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
- Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs
