About The Position

Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), a division of Pacific Northern Environmental LLC, is seeking a CDL Class A Hazmat Driver. This role is for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and can provide exceptional service. Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC comprises five divisions specializing in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. The company operates across multiple states including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii, and undertakes projects nationwide. CCS specifically focuses on industrial cleaning and spill response for pulp and paper mills, major oil companies, and a diverse range of manufacturing and industrial clients, handling complex industrial cleaning challenges efficiently and safely. The CDL Class A Hazmat Driver is crucial for the safe transportation of hazardous materials and other materials from job sites to designated disposal locations, and will also be involved in hands-on work with the field team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required.
  • Must possess a valid Class A Tanker endorsement, and Hazmat endorsement.
  • 2-3 years’ experience driving DOT regulated vehicles is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving Hazmat materials strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate truck controls to engage, move, and reposition vacuum hoses as necessary when operating a vacuum truck.
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Drive in accordance with all company safety policies and within all laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Complete DOT required pre and post trip inspections, completing any required paperwork as needed.
  • Operate box van carrying drums with a lift gate in order to pick up and/or deliver drums at a specific destination.
  • Operate truck in accordance with instructions received from dispatch or the supervisor each day.
  • Load, unload, and set up vacuum hoses at job site when operating the vacuum truck.
  • Report all accidents and injuries and complete an accident report form when necessary.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured prior to driving and maintain safety while driving.
  • Other duties as assigned.
