About The Position

As a Remote Claims Customer Service Representative at Symetra, you will serve as a trusted resource for customers, employers, healthcare providers, and claimants by delivering exceptional support throughout the claims process. This role is ideal for strong communicators who enjoy solving problems, helping others, and working from home. You will be the first point of contact for inquiries related to disability, leave, life insurance, and claims.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
1+ year of customer service, administrative support, call center, healthcare, insurance, or financial services experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and basic Excel.
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously.
Reliable internet connection and dedicated home workspace.

Nice To Haves

Insurance, disability, leave management, or claims experience.
Healthcare or benefits administration experience.
Experience in a high-volume call center environment.
Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and emails from customers, employers, healthcare providers, and business partners.
Assist with claim status inquiries, benefit information, required documentation, and next steps in the claims process.
Accurately document customer interactions within internal systems.
Research and resolve routine claim-related questions while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Support claim processing by reviewing information for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinate with Case Managers, Claims Specialists, and internal teams to address customer needs.
Maintain service-level expectations and productivity goals.
Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Deliver empathetic, customer-focused support during sensitive situations.
