About The Position

This role focuses on leading the strategy and investigation for complex professional liability and medical malpractice claims, managing external defense counsel, establishing financial and regulatory reporting, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with Risk Management to improve patient safety and reduce future liability.

Requirements

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Leads the strategy and investigation for complex professional liability and medical malpractice claims from initial report through final resolution.
Directs external defense counsel on case action plans, ensuring all litigation adheres to organizational guidelines and protocols.
Establishes precise loss reserves and executes National Claims Committee reports for significant high-exposure matters.
Negotiates directly with plaintiff attorneys and represents the organization at mediations, trials, and depositions to secure favorable settlements.
Collaborates with Risk Management to translate claim outcomes into "lessons learned" that improve patient safety and reduce future liability.
