About The Position

A well-established and growing civil contractor is looking to add an experienced Site Superintendent to their team in the Lower Mainland. This is a key field leadership role for a superintendent with a strong background in underground wet utilities and municipal infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading crews and subcontractors through the construction, repair, replacement, and installation of water mains, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related underground infrastructure. Requirements

  • 7+ years of civil construction experience with significant underground utility experience.
  • Strong experience with wet utilities, including: Water main, Sanitary sewer, Storm sewer / stormwater, Underground utility installation, Utility repairs, replacements, and upgrades
  • Previous experience as a Site Superintendent, Civil Superintendent, General Superintendent, or Senior Foreman.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction, site logistics, drawings, specifications, grades, and elevations.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, subdivisions, roadworks, or major civil projects is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively multiple crews, subcontractors, equipment, and project stakeholders.
  • Safety-first mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site operations on civil and underground utility projects.
  • Supervise foremen, operators, labourers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Plan and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and site logistics.
  • Oversee the installation, repair, replacement, and upgrade of wet utilities.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, inspectors, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, specifications, grades, elevations, and construction requirements.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, schedule, and manpower requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field issues and construction conflicts.
  • Maintain daily reports, project documentation, and site records.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure projects remain on schedule and within established quality and safety standards.
