About The Position

Primoris Services Corporation is a premier specialty contractor providing critical infrastructure services to the utility, energy, and renewables markets throughout the United States and Canada. We are seeking a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) for our Hollis Creek location. This role involves operating various types of equipment, performing maintenance, and adhering to strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of following instructions, and committed to performing quality work in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires the ability to work in diverse environmental conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience excavating near underground utilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds daily, seldom over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to grasp and manipulate various hand tools daily.
  • Ability to stand for more than two hours at a time, as well as twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping regularly.
  • Ability to identify/distinguish colors and use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to communicate orally, hear, and understand.
  • Ability to work and operate motorized equipment.
  • Ability to safely perform procedures where carelessness could result in injury.
  • Ability to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
  • Ability to use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
  • Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safety rules and comply with all company safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Stop and correct unsafe work practices and refuse to work in an unsafe situation.
  • Mobilize equipment, including loading, unloading, securing, setting up, and tearing down.
  • Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for the correct purpose, and maintained.
  • Serve as backup to other positions at the direction of management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
