About The Position

The Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator safely and efficiently operates heavy civil and mechanical equipment on construction sites to support construction activities. The position does not require a driver's license for vehicle operation. Duties include moving materials, excavating, grading, and completing other tasks as directed by site supervision.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of equipment safety procedures and operational best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents.
• Understanding of site safety regulations and ability to work in a safety-conscious manner.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy civil and mechanical equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other machinery as required.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine equipment maintenance to support safe and efficient operation.
• Follow safety protocols, company policies, and governmental regulations while operating equipment.
• Excavate, grade, backfill, and move materials according to project specifications and blueprints.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.
• Communicate with supervisors, team members, and other site personnel.
• Identify and promptly report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned tasks.
