About The Position

Fay, S&B USA Construction is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for heavy civil infrastructure work in the Portsmouth, Virginia area. Applicants should have experience with excavation, trenching, pipe setting, and loading trucks. The role involves safely operating heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, and skid steers, and keeping equipment in proper operating condition through basic preventive maintenance and repairs. The position requires periodic Saturday work as needed. Workers must provide their own safety footwear and have reliable transportation.

Requirements

Three years of experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
Experience operating various equipment, including dozers and skid steers.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must provide safety footwear.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to move or position heavy materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend or descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others understand.

Responsibilities

Safely and skillfully operate equipment such as dozers, excavators, and skid steers.
Perform simple preventive maintenance and repair tasks to keep equipment in proper operating condition.
Perform tasks safely and without accidents.
