About The Position

The Civil Laborer assists skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and performs physical labor at construction sites. The role involves carrying out a variety of tasks while following direction from experienced crew members and maintaining a primary focus on safety. The laborer helps set up work, keeps work areas clean and orderly, follows site and equipment instructions, and learns to recognize hazards by observing installed equipment and systems.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Meet all physical requirements.
• Have all required tools.
• Be able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftsmen with setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards.
• Comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
