Civil & Environmental Engineering Helpdesk Tutor Student Worker
About The Position
Civil and Environmental Engineering student tutors provide academic assistance to students in 200-level Civil and Environmental Engineering courses, and may assist with 300-level CEE courses when applicable. Tutors help review lecture topics, suggest approaches to textbook and homework questions, provide additional examples and problems, guide students through lab questions and calculations, and support exam preparation. The position is based at the F.W. Olin Center 210 in Schenectady, New York, and offers 6 hours per week at $16 per hour. Three positions are available.
Requirements
- Must be a Civil or Environmental Engineering student.
- Must have completed the courses for which they will provide tutoring.
- First-year students and sophomores are not eligible; juniors and seniors are eligible.
Responsibilities
- Review lecture topics with students.
- Suggest approaches to textbook and homework questions.
- Provide additional examples and problems.
- Guide students with lab questions and calculations.
- Assist students with exam preparation.
- Provide tutoring in applicable 200-level Civil and Environmental Engineering courses, and 300-level CEE courses when applicable.
