About The Position

Onsite Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join their team. This role involves working in various sectors including resource, municipal, energy, and mining. The successful candidate will be involved in surveying, inspecting, and designing infrastructure. Responsibilities span from the proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and commissioning of projects. The position requires a mix of field and office work, with opportunities available in both Smithers and Campbell River Offices.

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or Equivalent Experience
• Minimum one year experience in a design or consulting engineering environment
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LT
• Flexibility, organizational and time management skills
• Excellent Attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.
• Motivated and Dynamic Self Starter
• Strong Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills
• A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer service focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with clients.

Responsibilities

• Structure Condition Assessment
• Construction Surveys
• Geotechnical Assessments (Test pits, infiltration testing, material sampling etc.)
• Surveying (Total Station & GPS)
• Preparing Engineering Drawings for projects in various sectors
• Coordinating project drawings and reports
• Project Management and Contract Administration
