About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering I to work in its Conshohocken, Pennsylvania office. The role performs geotechnical field and office work to meet project needs, including monitoring subsurface investigations and construction, conducting engineering analyses and calculations, and supporting geotechnical reports. Field work may account for 30 to 70 percent of the role during the first three years, and overnight travel is expected. The position is onsite and requires a valid U.S. driver’s license, passing a Motor Vehicle Records review, and passing client screenings and assessments as required. The selected candidate must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office. Relocation assistance and U.S. employment authorization sponsorship are unavailable.

Requirements

B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
Valid U.S. driver’s license to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices; selected candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Ability to pass client screenings and assessments as required.
Ability to work in inclement weather.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

EIT or FE certification.
Basic understanding of soil mechanics concepts.
Experience in the field and office.

Responsibilities

Monitor test borings, test pits, and CPTs in the field.
Monitor construction of deep foundations, including driven and drilled piles, and earthworks.
Input boring logs in gINT.
Follow AECOM’s safety culture and maintain a safe work environment.
Assign geotechnical laboratory testing.
Perform design calculations for shallow and deep foundations and retaining walls.
Perform settlement analyses and slope stability analyses.
Provide support for geotechnical reports.
