About The Position

AECOM is hiring a Civil Engineer on its highways team, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The position is expected to begin in January 2027. It starts as full-time, on-site work and transitions to hybrid after six months. The role conducts engineering design and analysis under the supervision of an experienced engineer, using computer software to solve basic engineering problems and completing work within agreed budgets and schedules. An in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship experience.
• Previous experience using OpenRoads Designer.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of Colorado Department of Transportation standards.
• Coursework in roadway design or surveying.

Responsibilities

• Build analytic and design skills.
• Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
• Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules under supervision.
