About The Position

Kimley-Horn’s Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join its Land Development team. This is not a remote position. The role involves site development engineering and project management for residential and commercial projects, with a variety of land development site designs. The engineer will work with a team of engineers and designers and collaborate with industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors. The position also involves building professional relationships and supporting project quality, progress, budgets, and schedules.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software, including a hydrology modeling program, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting with project management tasks.
• Familiarity with client coordination, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to build plan sets and other construction documents.
• Design experience that includes utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential and commercial projects.
• Complete a variety of land development site designs.
• Conduct research and coordination; support project management and staff management.
• Perform cost estimating and permitting for land disturbance, and prepare bid packages and technical specifications.
• Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, attend client meetings, and oversee quality standards.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.
• Build plan sets and other construction documents.
