About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer with zero to three years of working experience to join their growing office and culture. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline engineering team and will support the team in providing clients with all aspects of civil engineering, including land development design, site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, utility design, and multi-discipline coordination. The Anchorage Civil Engineering department offers opportunities for training, mentorship, and support within a close-knit team that has the resources of a nationally recognized engineering firm.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering.
Zero to three (0 – 3) years of experience in the civil engineering profession.
EIT or ability to obtain EIT status within 2 years.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
Intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics.
Able to work on a highly motivated team, think outside the box, and be proud of the work you do while having a passion for expanding your knowledge and skills.

Nice To Haves

Possess technical writing skills.
Solid understanding of commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic calculation methods.
Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare civil engineering design documents.

Responsibilities

Provide clients with all aspects of civil engineering, including land development design, site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, and utility design.
Perform multi-discipline coordination.
Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
