This position leads the Dam Safety, Waterways, and Wetlands Section and manages the implementation of laws, regulations, and guidance that support safe and responsible environmental practices. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating permit reviews, and ensuring the proper handling of program responsibilities across the Southcentral Region.

Requirements

  • Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate specialty and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Manage application reviews, track workload, and ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Supervise section staff, assign tasks, and provide direction on program requirements
  • Work with regional and central office personnel to maintain consistent program practices
  • Evaluate proposed actions for alignment with regulations, policies, and guidance
  • Conduct or oversee investigations related to dams, wetlands, and encroachment activities
  • Provide information to contractors, consultants, officials, and the public on environmental requirements
