About The Position

David Nice Builders is seeking a Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee the entire lifecycle of site and civil construction projects, from initial planning to final closeout. This role involves managing project operations, client interactions, and commercial aspects. The ideal candidate will be organized, decisive, and adept at managing complex, multi-faceted projects in a dynamic environment. We are looking for individuals with strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and the discipline to ensure projects are completed successfully within budget and schedule, while maintaining positive relationships.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of project management experience in civil or site construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, civil drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and hold self and team accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience as a construction PM from an adjacent discipline.
  • Experience as an assistant PM or field engineer managing projects.
  • Pride in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with intact relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-construction planning, estimating, and client meetings.
  • Provide project-specific insights on scopes, suppliers, and risks.
  • Thoroughly review client contracts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Establish project administrative organization and maintain records.
  • Ensure alignment of budget, schedule, and scope with the project team.
  • Manage Project Management Assistants and site personnel.
  • Develop and maintain weekly lookahead schedules and update master schedules.
  • Monitor project budgets, prepare cost/progress reports, and submit estimates for changes.
  • Oversee contract production, change orders, submittals, and procurement.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, engineering firms, authorities, and subcontractors.
  • Act as the primary liaison between leadership, clients, and the project team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide active safety leadership on site.
  • Facilitate subcontractor/supplier payments and client billings with AP/AR.
  • Oversee project closeout processes and tracking.
