About The Position

Apex Companies is seeking a skilled CAD Technician with 3D modeling software experience to support the design and development of municipal infrastructure projects. The role collaborates with engineers and project managers to produce precise 2D drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater systems, site utilities, structural layouts, and related facilities, contributing to accurate, efficient, and timely project delivery.

The position creates and maintains design documents, checks work against industry standards and municipal and regulatory requirements, organizes project files, and assists with documentation for client and regulatory approvals. It may also support data collection, field measurements, and design modifications. The role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and a $5,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the company program.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar 3D modeling and drafting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of experience with municipal infrastructure projects, such as water/wastewater, site utilities, or structural layouts.
• Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar design software.
• Work with engineers and project managers to interpret project requirements and translate them into accurate design documents.
• Ensure drawings and models comply with industry standards, municipal specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized project files, revise drawings as needed, and assist in preparing documentation packages for client and regulatory approvals.
• Assist with data collection, field measurements, and design modifications to support design accuracy and consistency.
• Stay current with drafting technologies, software updates, and industry best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
