About The Position

Apex Companies is seeking a skilled CAD Technician with 3D modeling software experience to support the design and development of municipal infrastructure projects. The technician will collaborate with engineers and project managers to produce precise 2D drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater systems, site utilities, structural layouts, and related facilities, supporting accurate, efficient, and timely project delivery.

The role involves creating and maintaining design documents, checking them against industry standards and project requirements, organizing project files, and assisting with field data collection and design changes. The posting identifies the Apex job title as CAD/GIS Technician 2. This role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the company's program. Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar 3D modeling and drafting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of experience with municipal infrastructure projects, such as water/wastewater, site utilities, or structural layouts; listed as preferred.
• Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field; preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar design software.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret project requirements and translate them into accurate design documents.
• Ensure drawings and models comply with industry standards, municipal specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized project files, revise drawings as needed, and help prepare documentation packages for client and regulatory approvals.
• Assist with data collection, field measurements, and design modifications to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
• Stay current with drafting technologies, software updates, and industry best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
