About The Position

The City Clerk serves as the administrator and custodian of City ordinances, proclamations, minutes of City Council, and all boards and commission meetings. The City Clerk is also responsible for city elections and records management. Outstanding oral communications and interpersonal skills are necessary to be able to meet with the public and discuss their problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Texas State driver's license
  • Maintain Notary status
  • Must be bondable

Nice To Haves

  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience with five years of related experience as a City Clerk/Secretary or Deputy City Clerk/Secretary is preferred.
  • Certification in the Texas Municipal Clerk Certification Program recommended.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Administering, monitoring, and ensuring compliance of services and functions legally mandated by ordinances and applicable state laws.
  • Serving as the administrator and custodian of City ordinances, proclamations, minutes of City Council, and all boards and commission meetings.
