About The Position

LabX Media Group is a leading worldwide science publishing company that delivers meaningful industry content and integrated marketing solutions for the scientific community. LabX Media Group’s brands and product solutions deliver trusted, timely and deep information across print and digital products to empower our customers and advance their research. We are looking for a Circulation Manager to join our team! As part of the Marketing team, the Circulation Manager will lead and grow our print and digital circulation strategy for a large publication. The Circulation Manager will oversee print circulation operations, subscriber retention, revenue optimization, and churn reduction while driving data- informed audience growth initiatives across multiple channels.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in circulation management, audience development, or digital/print marketing, ideally within a media, publishing, B2B or B2C environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret audience data and translate insights into actionable strategies that drive measurable growth.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills; ability to manage multiple brands and campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Experience in/knowledge of the scientific industry is an asset.
  • Expert working knowledge of subscription fulfillment software (Omeda, CDS).
  • Experience with e-mail marketing platforms and list segmentation best practices.
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and data visualization tools to monitor audience KPIs and campaign performance.
  • Hands-on experience with social media management; familiarity with emerging platforms and growth tactics.
  • Direct experience both executing and managing paid advertising efforts.
  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization; a disciplined, test-and-learn approach to campaign development capable of demonstrating clear ROI
  • Advanced knowledge of print fulfillment workflows, subscriber database management, subscription billing cycles, and postal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of print circulation for a large print brand with a focus on subscriber retention and proactive churn reduction strategies.
  • Utilize audience data and insights to make data-informed decisions that influence audience growth and increase overall audience engagement across the portfolio.
  • Plan and execute campaigns to acquire new and retain current subscribers, using list segmenting and behavioral targeting strategies.
  • Develop test plans, trial offers, and promotional packages.
  • Monitor performance results for multiple customer acquisition channels and lifecycle campaigns, optimizing based on measurable outcomes.
  • Own the complete workflow of a contact from their initial point of conversion to their success or failure in ongoing marketing, engagement, and opt-in campaigns.
  • Oversee all logistical matters related to print and circulation including 3rd party vendor management, agency partnerships, newsstand distribution, cost optimization, print order management, shipping and more.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research; continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and conversion optimization techniques to keep the brand ahead of the curve.
  • Monitor email deliverability and take action to increase deliverability rates, open rates, and click-through rates across all subscriber communications.
  • Develop and execute plans and strategies that grow our audience and drive traffic and engagement to editorial and advertiser-supported content, programs, and events.
