About The Position

This interdisciplinary course addresses issues related to children and youth with disabilities from the perspectives of critical disabilities studies and human rights. Topics addressed may include the roles of self-advocacy, social movements, and child advocates; policy and legislation; practical modalities to facilitate active inclusion; and the transition to adulthood. Domestic and international perspectives will be considered.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • A record of scholarly research or prior postsecondary teaching experience.
  • Ability to address topics including self-advocacy, social movements, child advocates, policy and legislation, practical modalities for inclusion, and transition to adulthood.
  • Ability to consider domestic and international perspectives.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in a related discipline.
  • Both a record of scholarly research and prior postsecondary teaching experience are preferred.
