Requirements

Bachelor Degree in related field
Requires one (1) year with library experience in Children's area
Three (3) years of supervisory experience
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Handle multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree in Library Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association
Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements

Responsibilities

Assisting in the supervision of employees and volunteers.
Managing and maintaining the Children's collection of materials.
Assisting with budget and long-range planning.
Conducting library tours.
Arranging school class visits.
Planning story time and crafts.
Providing information on library programs.
Collaborating with other library staff and local organizations to develop programs and services.
Attending seminars and events to stay current with the latest developments and technologies.
Providing assistance and support as needed.
Providing excellent customer service to all customers.
