This is a professional position providing supervisory oversight for counselors and therapists in the Children’s Outpatient (COP) services within the Outpatient Services Division. COP provides therapy services that are designed for children who are experiencing a mental health condition, including severe and persistent mental illness, or have experienced trauma, including loss and grief, depression, anxiety, abuse histories and addictions, using evidence-based practices and the latest research-supported interventions to restore and improve the quality of life for each individual served. These services can be provided in clinic or via telehealth. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic will play an integral role of support, coaching and guidance for a team of counselors and therapists serving children and families with mental health and substance use needs. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic will ensure that the counseling and therapy services being delivered are individualized, recovery-focused and allow individuals the opportunity to learn how to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic will be a subject matter expert on counseling and therapy that utilize natural supports, community supports, and input and resources from other community partners or professional agencies. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic will ensure that all services emphasize individualized treatment planning that is strength based and built collaboratively with the client and natural and community supports that care about and know the client best. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic will ensure that counselors and therapists provide recommendations and referrals to other service providers as appropriate, such as psychiatry, SOAR, etc., and that the counselors and therapists collaborate with the other clinical service providers. The Supervisor of Children's Outpatient Clinic is responsible for driving superior performance regarding the above responsibilities as well as all agency policies, practice and quality standards, including ensuring individual team members meet required Client Service Levels. This is an office-based position. Achieving the minimum annual client services levels of 1440 is an essential function of this position. Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living Team Members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation.
