About The Position

Children Services Supervisor ensure children receive quality childcare in a caring and stimulating environment which promotes intellectual, physical and emotional growth. Through effective supervision of staff, overseeing program development and operational requirements of the centre, the supervisor is integral to the provision of quality childcare.

Requirements

• An Early Childhood Education Certificate and appropriate post-basic training in special needs and infant/toddler certification is required
• Current First Aid & CPR, TB screening, use of personal vehicle and a valid unrestricted BC Class 5 Drivers License required.
• Working knowledge of computers mandatory
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Clear Criminal Record Search and complete COVID 19 Immunizations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory and management experience is preferred
• Proven ability to dialogue, plan, interact positively and work collaboratively with families and external professionals to develop new programs and enhance program delivery
• Ability to train, coach/mentor and evaluate staff performance, lead a large staff team, budget, organize schedules and document appropriately
• Must have maturity, tact, self-initiative, conflict resolution skills and good written and verbal communication skills
• Good time management skills are necessary for this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the well-being of all children, manages the educational program delivery and also provides direct care to children, encouraging their intellectual, physical and emotional growth
• Liaison with families and external professionals
• Ability to organize and sustain the positive functioning of children in a group environment
• Maintains the center in compliance with licensing.
