About The Position

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Children's Behavioral Health Manager to provide leadership, clinical expertise, and operational oversight for children's behavioral health services across all Mercy Care clinical locations. This role is responsible for supervising integrated behavioral health programs, including Primary Care-Behavioral Health Integration models and Parent Support services, while ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and families. The Children's Behavioral Health Manager serves as both a clinical leader and practicing clinician, providing behavioral health assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. This position requires direct patient care at least three days per week and participation in community outreach activities, including health fairs and community events several times annually.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or higher-level licensure in Georgia required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in behavioral health or human services, including at least two to three years in program leadership or supervision serving children's behavioral health populations.
  • Experience working clinically as a therapist and providing direct behavioral health interventions.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent behavioral health services and best practices.
  • Understanding of integrated care models, population health, and FQHC operations.
  • Experience with Medicaid, managed care, utilization management, audits, and behavioral health regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Current Georgia Driver's License required.
  • Commitment to cultural humility, equity, and serving vulnerable and underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee children's behavioral health programs and services across Mercy Care locations.
  • Supervise behavioral health clinicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based behavioral health care delivery.
  • Manage intake, assessment, treatment planning, referral management, care coordination, and service delivery processes.
  • Monitor clinical quality, outcomes, productivity, patient satisfaction, and access-to-care metrics.
  • Support implementation and oversight of behavioral health grants and special programs.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and multidisciplinary teams to support integrated care models.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA/FQHC standards, Medicaid requirements, behavioral health regulations, accreditation standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Analyze performance data and lead quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide consultation and support to Mercy Care providers and specialists regarding behavioral health concerns.
  • Participate in community engagement activities and represent Mercy Care at health fairs and outreach events.
