About The Position

The Childcare Provider 2 assists the Childcare Specialist with planning the before- and after-school program and supervising children. The role involves preparing the site and activities before children arrive, maintaining respectful and appropriate interactions, supporting program behavior standards, administering first aid when needed, and participating in cleanup. The position requires at least 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually under Department of Health Services regulations. Specific assignments may vary according to department needs.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Meet the staff qualifications for a teacher-caregiver under section R9-5-401 of the Arizona Administrative Code.
Provide written documentation of one of the following: a high school diploma or equivalency and six months of qualifying childcare experience; at least 12 college credits, including at least 6 credits in early childhood education, and six months of qualifying childcare experience; an N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
Hold a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Have a background in early childhood education or related fields.
Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days.
Have effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and the community.
Prepare the site and activities before children arrive.
Supervise children at all times.
Administer first aid when necessary.
Treat every child with respect.
Maintain acceptable behavior standards consistent with district and program policy.
Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
Share and participate in cleanup activities.
Complete at least 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually, as required by Department of Health Services regulations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
