About The Position

The Childcare Provider 2 assists the Childcare Specialist with planning and supervising the before- and after-school program. The role involves preparing the site and activities before children arrive, supervising children, maintaining appropriate behavior and treating every child respectfully. The provider must keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities and participate in cleanup. At least 18 verifiable hours of department-approved training must be completed annually.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Meet Arizona Administrative Code section R9-5-401 staff qualifications for a teacher-caregiver and provide written documentation of one of the following: a high school diploma or equivalency plus six months of qualifying childcare experience; at least 12 college credits, including at least 6 credits in early childhood education, plus six months of qualifying childcare experience; an N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
• Hold a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Have a background in early childhood education or a related field.
• Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days.
• Have effective communication skills.

• Prepare the site and activities before children arrive.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain acceptable behavior standards consistent with district and program policy.
• Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
• Share and participate in cleanup activities.
• Complete at least 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually, as required by Department of Health Services regulations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
