About The Position

As a Discovery Point Childcare Lead Teacher, you will plan lessons and instruct children in activities according to the approved curriculum to promote their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. You will establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, promote and participate in center functions, and communicate with and develop positive relationships with family members. The role also includes providing direction to other classroom staff and maintaining an organized daily schedule. Discovery Point describes this role as an opportunity to support and educate children in the community and contribute to a nurturing, supportive environment for growth and learning. Each Discovery Point franchise is independently owned and operated; applications go directly to the franchisee, and hiring decisions are made by the franchise location’s management.

Requirements

Meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum.
Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations.
Ability to obtain training in CPR, fire safety, and other required training.
Have a CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education.
Meet all state requirements for a lead teacher.
