Summary of Duties You will serve in a leadership role working within the Child Welfare Program, and have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. As a Child Welfare Supervisor 2, you will: This position supervises Child Welfare social service staff to ensure that the mission of the Department of Human Services is carried out by providing services directly to children and families in accordance with state and federal laws and good Child Welfare practice and coordinating client services with other state agencies or providers. This includes responsibility for maintaining the cooperative working relationships with community partners and the continuous review of programs and standards which affect the quality, safety, and permanency of children's lives. Makes decisions about the level and type of services provided to client families. The supervisor is responsible for personnel management, including interviewing, selection of new staff, staff promotions, reassignment, completing performance appraisals, responding to grievances, rewarding excellent performance, and taking disciplinary actions when required.
