About The Position

This position is located in Craig, Oklahoma. The annual salary ranges from $29,600.55 to $34,999.65, depending on the level (I, II, or III), and includes full state employee benefits. Travel is extensive, and the candidate must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Requirements

  • Child Welfare Assistant I: Six months of experience in general office clerical work, providing care for children in a licensed day care facility, sales, or public contact work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting six months of technical or vocational training coursework; or the completion of 15 semester hours from a college or university.
  • Child Welfare Assistant II: One year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for the required experience.
  • Child Welfare Assistant III: One year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment plus two additional years of clerical experience in a child welfare environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for the required experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must maintain required car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provides lower-level case management assistance and support for Child Welfare Specialists (CWS), clients, client families, and other interested parties.
  • Performs administrative support tasks and other related duties to include general office duties, inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, scheduling and assisting in meetings with clients, parents, and other interested parties.
  • Schedules required appointments for doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and others; arranges or provides transportation for children and clients.
  • Interviews clients and their families and reports findings to assigned CWS.
  • Advises clients of available child welfare services and resources; provides specific program information to clients and may refer to community resources for assistance.
