Child Welfare Specialist
About The Position
CYN Counseling Center is a nonprofit, community-based counseling agency that offers therapy, case management, crisis intervention, and community education to people of all ages. For over forty years, CYN’s collaborative team has provided critical services that change the lives of thousands. We are currently seeking a Child Welfare Specialist to add to our team! A successful employee in this role provides home based services for clients as per DCFS rules and procedures and direct services which may include, but are not limited to, teaching basic child care, nutrition, substance abuse treatment and education, meal planning, and more. In addition, our Child Welfare Specialist will maintain contact with appropriate DCFS personnel assigned to their cases, attend specific staffing's as scheduled, completed required documentation and trainings, and more.
Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university.
- At least two years social welfare experience.
- Must be licensed as a child welfare specialist or attain license through DCFS training within the first 3 months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Provides home based services for clients as per DCFS rules and procedures.
- Provides direct services which may include teaching basic child care, nutrition, substance abuse treatment and education, meal planning, and more.
- Maintains contact with appropriate DCFS personnel assigned to their cases.
- Attends specific staffing's as scheduled.
- Completes required documentation and trainings.
