About The Position

The CSEA Juvenile Case Manager – Team Lead manages the child support aspects of Abuse, Neglect, and Dependency cases active within in the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas – Juvenile Division. Communication and coordination with Juvenile Court, the Fairfield County Prosecutor’s Office, and Fairfield County Protective Services occur at all points throughout the case management process. Leadership responsibilities associated with this Team Lead role include mentorship, training assistance, participation at CSEA Department Meetings, and the knowledge and ability to provide assistance to team members.

Requirements

  • Completion of two years technical training or undergraduate major core coursework in criminology, social work, psychology or related field.
  • Two years experience in performing child support functions to include conducting investigations to locate absent parents, establishment of paternity, and enforcement of child support orders.
  • One course or six months experience in interviewing techniques.
  • One course or six months experience in business math.
  • One course or six months experience in case preparation techniques.
  • One course or six months experience in techniques of writing.
  • One course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
  • Education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct child support case management to the non-misdemeanor Juvenile Court caseload.
  • Manages child support cases existing within or to be established within the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas – Juvenile Division, generally Abuse, Neglect, or Dependency in nature.
  • Communicates and coordinates with Juvenile Court, the Fairfield County Prosecutor’s Office, and Fairfield County Protective Services.
  • Utilizes the Ohio Office of Child Support's SETS computer system database and OnBase.
  • Familiarity with the State of Ohio’s SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System) program.
  • Performs financial case management responsibilities, including financial case audits, child support redirections, child support holds and releases.
  • Transfers cases into the general enforcement caseload when the Juvenile court action concludes.
  • Coordinates paternity and support order establishment, including scheduling and filing genetic testing results.
  • Establishes support orders for parties as ordered by Juvenile Court.
  • Collects guideline-relevant information for child support recommendations.
  • Performs limited support order enforcement while cases are active in Juvenile Court, including party location, party employment identification, and issuance of support withholding orders.
  • Communicates with customers when requested or as necessary.
  • Provides mentorship, training assistance, and support to team members.
  • Participates at CSEA Department Meetings.
  • Attends selected trainings, seminars, and meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
