About The Position

The Department of Revenue, Division of Child Support Services is recruiting for multiple Child Support Enforcement Specialist positions in Anchorage. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Child Support Enforcement Specialist I represents the full working professional level involved as a team member in the establishment, modification, and/or collection of child support. Under general supervision, as a member of the establishment, domestic, or intergovernmental section, this position determines, performs, or directs the performance of required actions in case preparation and investigation to collect court-ordered or administratively determined child support payments from responsible parents, determines paternity, and establishes child support orders. The agency is committed to ensuring child support is collected and disbursed to child support orders. As a federally funded agency and due to the federal tax information we receive, we must comply with many federal laws, regulations and reporting requirements. In your role you will have direct influence on the agency’s ability to effectively and efficiently attain federal and department goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to obtaining a high school diploma (or GED) and qualified experience applying statutes, program requirements, or similar criteria or guidelines, used to review, process, and/or evaluate applications for programs or services, and relaying the information to external and internal clients.
  • Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation to meet security requirements for access to State and national databases.
  • Copies of all performance evaluations received for the last two years (or a written statement explaining why they were not available, or two letters of professional reference).
  • Copy of transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
  • Typing certification (dated within one year) showing the ability to type a minimum of 35 gross words per minute with an accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
