Child Respite Provider
About The Position
Provide one-on-one respite support, supervision, and companionship to a child in the Chippewa Falls area. The role supports the child’s safety and helps them participate in everyday routines and activities they enjoy, while creating a fun, positive, and supportive environment. The provider will help the child remain engaged and build a trusting relationship through patience, consistency, and compassion. If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, that party—not Consumer Direct Care Network—will be the legal employer and will have sole authority to hire or dismiss the provider.
Requirements
- Be patient, compassionate, and understanding.
- Be dependable and responsible.
- Be comfortable providing one-on-one support to children.
- Be able to maintain close supervision and prioritize safety.
- Be energetic and willing to participate in play and outdoor activities.
- Be comfortable assisting with personal care and daily routines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children with autism or providing one-on-one support is strongly preferred.
- Relevant experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one supervision and support to promote the child’s safety, including close supervision due to elopement concerns.
- Assist with everyday tasks and daily routines, including making the bed, meal preparation, and bathing.
- Keep the child engaged through play, activities, and positive interaction.
- Spend time doing activities the child enjoys, such as car rides and outdoor activities.
- Encourage participation in age-appropriate activities and help create a fun, positive environment.
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the child through patience, consistency, and compassion.
