Child First Mental Health and Developmental Clinician

Savio House•Denver, CO
•$58,660 - $66,660

About The Position

Join Savio House’s Child First team. Child First is an evidence-based, two-generation intervention serving vulnerable children from prenatal through age five and their families through intensive, home-based services. It aims to reduce serious mental health problems, developmental and learning disabilities, and abuse and neglect. The model combines a psychotherapeutic, dyadic intervention to strengthen the parent-child relationship with care coordination that connects families to needed services and supports. Child First is recognized as an evidence-based home visiting model by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the MIECHV Program and rated “Effective” by SAMHSA’s National Registry for Effective Programs and Practice. The Clinician partners with a Family Support Partner to engage families referred to the intervention. The role focuses on strengthening the caregiver-child relationship as a protective buffer against stress and as support for children’s emotional, language, and cognitive growth. Using trauma-informed Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), a relationship-based, dyadic parent-child treatment model, the Clinician works supportively and reflectively with caregivers and children to foster a protective, nurturing, and responsive relationship. The Clinician also consults with teachers in early care and education settings as needed. Starting salary is $58,660 at candidacy (LPCC, SWC, MFTC), $61,660 when licensed (LCSW, LPC, LMFT), or $63,660–$66,660 for an MA bilingual candidate. Supervision toward professional licensure is provided.
