About The Position
This position provides mental health evaluation and therapeutic intervention to patients. The clinician works under the supervision of a Psychologist, Mental Health Manager, and/or Program Director. The role contributes to the success of the UTMB Managed Care organization and includes related duties as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, or Social Worker.
Responsibilities
- Interview, evaluate, and diagnose patients identified as having mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Treatment Plans.
- Assist with training and education of mental health, medical, and other staff.
- Assist with implementing Quality Improvement/Quality Management programs and monitoring compliance with required policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide routine consultation and communicate with a supervisor and/or attending provider regarding assigned patients' status.
- Complete clinically appropriate and timely documentation.
- Liaise with patients, patient families, on-site departments, and community agencies to coordinate treatment and/or facilitate aftercare services.
- Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Perform related duties as required.
