About The Position

The Child Care Worker is supervised by an educational lead or cooperating teacher. Their responsibilities are to aid the teachers in maintaining an orderly and safe environment for children, supervising small groups of children as assigned by teaching staff, and participating in all operations of the daily schedule. This includes activities such as choice time, snack, meals, group activities, nap time, outdoor play, self-help routines, dressing, bathroom care, and field trips. The role also involves completing and maintaining required orientation and training, performing light maintenance, clerical, or cleaning tasks as assigned, and always knowing the whereabouts of assigned children with constant sight and sound supervision.

Requirements

  • HIGHLY dependable work habits required.
  • Sound judgment/decision-making necessary.
  • A TB-test, Physical, and Criminal Background check required.
  • HD 265 or Psych 260 REQUIRED, or Assistant Child Care Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an orderly and safe environment for children.
  • Supervising small groups of children as assigned by teaching staff.
  • Participate in all operations of daily schedule which includes the following times of day: choice, snack, meal, group, nap, outdoor play, self help, dressing, bathroom care, & field trips.
  • Complete and maintain orientation & required training included as part of the position.
  • Light maintenance, clerical, or cleaning as assigned by teaching staff.
  • Know the group of children you are assigned to and the whereabouts of them at all time (sight & sound supervision required always).
