The Child Care Worker position is a part-time, non-exempt/hourly role that reports to the Kid's Day Out Coordinator. The primary responsibility is to supervise children at all times, ensuring a secure and safe environment for play and learning. This role involves creating and implementing lesson plans, completing classroom reports, and preparing daily reports for each child. The Child Care Worker will also supervise and train assistants, provide positive feedback to parents, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals. Adherence to DFPS proceedings and regulations, changing diapers/toilet training, and complying with school presentation requirements are essential. The position requires attending ongoing training to stay updated on education and regulations, participating in dismissal procedures, and upholding the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. The role involves acting as a witness to Gospel values, supporting school and Archdiocese policies, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating professionalism. A stimulating and varied schedule of activities appropriate for students in a well-ordered environment is expected, along with positive interaction with parents. The Child Care Worker must attend required in-services and perform other duties as assigned by the Director. Maintaining medical and emergency records, ensuring a first aid kit is on hand, and ensuring at least one staff member is CPR/First Aid trained during operating hours are crucial. Key functions include maintaining accurate records, collaborating with peers, and working effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to follow directions, handle multiple tasks, possess proficient technology skills, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with a focus on children's needs is also important.
