Child Care Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support young learners in early education and preschool child care centers. The position offers flexibility and may involve working in different centers and with various age groups. The Substitute Teacher helps create a safe, nurturing environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth, and collaborates with a team to deliver engaging curriculum. The role is performed in person at a child care center and follows Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, guidance, and applicable laws and regulations. Candidates must pass required state and company background checks and meet applicable minimum education and experience requirements. The position requires compliance with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must pass required state and company background checks.
- Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
- A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
- Maintain open communication with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Help support children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Collaborate with the team to create engaging curriculum.
