About The Position

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool is seeking a dependable, flexible on-call substitute teacher to support its schools in Horsham and North Wales. The substitute works across classrooms serving children from infants through school age, providing continuity of care and learning when teachers are absent. The schedule varies according to school needs, and the position offers experience for people exploring early childhood education, with potential to transition into a full-time teacher position.

The substitute steps into classrooms as needed, supports daily routines and instructional activities, and helps maintain a safe, positive, engaging environment where children feel supported and eager to learn. The role involves working with teaching teams, following established lesson plans and schedules, and building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet state licensing requirements.
• Ability to adapt to different age groups, teaching styles, and classroom needs.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a warm, caring presence.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare or school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and routines for multiple age groups, from infants through school age.
