About The Position

As a Child Care Substitute, you will assist the classroom Teacher with implementing the educational program and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, parents, and children. This is an as-needed position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; days and hours may vary. Pay is $16.35, with weekly earned wage access available as an option. The position reports to the Director.

Requirements

Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate software applications.
Ability to communicate quickly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work with children and remain calm and patient during emergency and difficult situations.
Ability to meet physical requirements, which may include lifting up to 55 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

Monitor children’s safety and behavior.
Follow and implement a daily schedule appropriate for the age group of children in your care.
Assist the Teacher with preparing and carrying out daily activities based on children’s individual development and needs.
Maintain order within the center.
Sanitize the classroom and equipment.
Assist with meals and snacks.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
