About The Position

As a Child Care Substitute, you will assist the classroom Teacher with implementing the educational program and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, and children. The position is on an as-needed basis. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with variable hours, and is part-time. The role reports to the Director.

Requirements

• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate software applications.
• Ability to communicate quickly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with children and remain calm and patient during emergencies and difficult situations.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, which may include lifting up to 55 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children’s safety and behavior.
• Follow and implement the daily schedule appropriate for the age group in your care.
• Assist the Teacher in preparing and carrying out daily activities based on children’s individual development and needs.
• Maintain order within the center.
• Sanitize the classroom and equipment.
• Assist with meals and snacks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
