About The Position

As a Child Care Substitute, you assist the classroom Teacher with implementing the educational program and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, parents, and children. The position is on an as-needed basis. The listed schedule is part-time, Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., though days and hours may vary. Pay is $16.35, and weekly earned wage access is available as an option. You report to the Director.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate software applications.
• Ability to communicate quickly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with children and remain calm and patient in emergency and difficult situations.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, which may include lifting up to 55 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children’s safety and behavior.
• Follow and implement the daily schedule appropriate for the age group of children in your care.
• Assist the Teacher in preparing and carrying out daily activities based on children’s individual development and needs.
• Maintain order within the center.
• Sanitize the classroom and equipment.
• Assist with meals and snacks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
