Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as the Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role adapts to menu changes and meets meal and snack schedules. It creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff and distributes food to classrooms; follows the daily menu provided by the Director and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; and maintains food and supply inventory, ordering additional items when needed. The role may also assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility with work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility is preferred.
