Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The cook creates home-style, nutritious meals within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff and distributes food to classrooms; follows the Director’s daily menu and relevant USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; maintains food and supply inventory and orders additional items as needed; and assists in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when needed.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility with work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
