Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The Food Specialist creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and in accordance with state and federal requirements. The role prepares meals and snacks for children and staff and distributes food to classrooms. The Cook follows the daily menu provided by the Director, including applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; maintains food and supply inventory and orders items as needed; and assists in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when needed.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.

- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
