About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a Center Cook at its Elma East, New York center. The Cook prepares nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children in the center’s care and cleans the kitchen after food preparation and service. When not working in the kitchen, the Cook may assist teachers in the classrooms. Classroom work is optional, but candidates willing to help in classrooms are preferred and may be scheduled for more hours per week than cooks without classroom responsibilities. The position is available full-time or part-time, pays $16.00–$18.00 per hour, and has no evening or weekend work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of food preparation experience.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification.
• Experience with the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP).
• Willingness to assist in the classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children.
• Serve meals.
• Clean the kitchen area after food preparation and service.
• Assist teachers in the classrooms when not preparing food, serving meals, or cleaning, if willing and assigned.
