Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The cook creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and in accordance with state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff; and distributes food to classrooms. The role follows the daily menu provided by the Director, which incorporates USDA, licensing, and health department regulations. The Food Specialist maintains inventory of food and supplies and orders additional items as needed. They may also assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater. Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
