Child Care Center Cook
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a Center Cook for its Elma East, New York center. The cook prepares nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children in the center and cleans the kitchen after food preparation and service. When not working in the kitchen, the cook may assist teachers in the classrooms; classroom work is optional but preferred, and employees who take on classroom responsibilities may be scheduled for more hours per week than those who work only in the kitchen. The position is available full-time or part-time, pays $16.00–$18.00 per hour, and does not require evenings or weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of food preparation experience.
- ServSafe Food Handler certification.
- Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) experience.
- Willingness to work in the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children.
- Clean the kitchen area after food preparation and service.
- Optionally assist teachers in the classrooms when not preparing food, serving meals, or cleaning.
